Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ahoy iOS app (“Ahoy”, “the app”), published by Krzysztof Przekwas (Poland). By downloading or using Ahoy, you agree to these Terms.

What Ahoy is

Ahoy is a pocket reference and learning aid for recreational sailors — signal flags, buoys, ship lights, day shapes, the Beaufort scale, clouds, sound signals, VHF radio scripts and a sailing dictionary. It is provided free of charge for general reference and education.

Not for navigation — important safety notice

The content in Ahoy is not certified, not exam-grade, and must not be relied upon for navigation or any safety-critical decision. It is a simplified aid for recreational learning. Regulations, signals and procedures vary by country and change over time. Always verify against official, current sources and follow the directions of a qualified skipper and the relevant authorities. You are responsible for the safety of your vessel and crew.

No warranty

Ahoy is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the content is free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Krzysztof Przekwas shall not be liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or its content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under Polish and EU law.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its original content are owned by Krzysztof Przekwas. Photographs used for reference are licensed from their respective authors and credited within the app. You may use Ahoy for your personal, non-commercial reference; you may not redistribute or resell its content.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer rights of the country in which you reside. Questions about these Terms can be sent to przekwaskrzysiek@gmail.com.
